Obverse of Jewel
A superb 9ct gold Past Master's breast Jewel suspended on a gold bar bearing the word "Founder".
To qualify for this bar the Past Master had to be a Founder Member of the Lodge in 1923.
The Jewel comprises of a magnificent gold and enamel plaque, attached to a blue ribbon, which bears the name of the Lodge "Redcliffe Masonic Lodge No. 564 Bangor" on the circumference thereof.

The gold Compass and Square is suspended from the said initials,
surrounded by an ivy wreath, which is emblematic of Fidelity.
The quality of this Jewel is excellent. It appears to have been made by a local Silversmith "Wm. Pollock, Jeweller and Silversmith, Main Street, Bangor, County Down."

The Jewel is impressed with the makers mark "W.J.D"
Short History of Warrant No. 564.
Warrant No. 564 issued to brethren in MONAGHAN on the 1st April, 1779. Warrant No. 564 was Cancelled at Monaghan on the 6th July, 1815 for neglect of duty.

History of Redcliffe Lodge No. 564.
The Minutes of the Grand Lodge Board of General Purposes dated 4th June 1923 show concerning Warrant No. 564 -
"4 June, 1923 - Read Memorial from various Brethren praying for a warrant to establish a Lodge in Bangor in the County of Down to be called the Redcliffe. – Recommended"
The Recommendation of The Board was followed,as is shown in the Grand Lodge Minutes of 7th June, 1923 as "Confirmed"
Warrant No. 564 reissued to `Redcliffe Lodge' in BANGOR, County Down on the 8th June, 1923. [As can be seen below Redcliffe Lodge No. 564 was Constituted on the 3rd October 1923.]
Series five Vol. 19 shown as Vol. 4 of the extant Grand Lodge Registers shows:-
"Warrant No. 564 to Bangor, Co. Down as “Redcliffe Lodge”, 8 June, 1923.Robert L. Moore, MD.; Henry D. Wight, Engineer and David Hollywood, Estate Agent, all from Lodge No. 284, registered along with eighteen others nine being from Lodge No. 284, the remainder from various lodges, 8 June, 1923."

An Occasional Meeting of the Right Worshipful The Grand Lodge of the Province of Down was held in the Dufferin Hall, Bangor, Co. Down on Wednesday 3rd October, 1923, for the purpose of Constituting the ‘Redcliffe’ Masonic Lodge No. 564
The Grand Lodge was opened on the First Degree at 7 o’clock p.m. with the following Officers:-

The Roll was called and the attendance’s and apologies of Provincial Grand Lodge Officers recorded.
The meeting was honoured by the presence of R.W. Brother Colonel Claud Cane, Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Ireland who was heartily greeted and saluted.
R.W. Bro. J.H. Stirling, Grand Master of the Province of Antrim & R.W. Brother Colonel Charles Pepper, Grand Master of the Province of Meath were also greeted and saluted.
The notice convening the Meeting having been read the Ceremony of Constitution was carried out by the Grand Master of the Province and the Grand Lodge Officers and ‘Redcliffe’ Masonic Lodge No. 564 was declared to be at Labour, W. Brother D.L. Moore being installed as first Worshipful Master the remaining officers afterwards being installed.
At the request of the Provincial Grand Master R.W. Brother Colonel Claud Cane addressing the Brethren said he esteemed it a high Masonic privilege to have taken part in such an impressive ceremony. Certain duties were imposed upon those taking part and one of the greatest was that not only should the honour of the Province be upheld but also that of the Grand Lodge of Ireland. It was incumbent upon him to remind them of their duties to the Grand Lodge of Ireland. Since he had been appointed Deputy Grand Master of Ireland 19 new Lodges had been Constituted in Dublin. To the two great Provinces of Antrim and Down the Brethren in Dublin gave great credit knowing their zeal on behalf of the advancement of our great Order. He impressed upon them that all work should be done well & reverently. Masonry meant Brotherly love and Relief and our secrets should be ever carefully guarded. He wished the new Lodge the greatest good fortune and success.
Bro. Dr. Moore thanked the Deputy Grand Master of Ireland for his address and the Provincial Grand Master and Officers for their attendance to Constitute the Lodge.
The brethren of the Lodge afterwards entertained the Provincial Grand Master & the Grand Lodge officers and visiting brethren.
