A superb quality gold Compass and Square Past Master's neck Jewel. The Jewel comprises of a normal Compass and Square, which is gold, with a suspended "G", which is also gold. The handle of the Square is engraved with five shamrocks, and the Compass with five on each leg, totalling fifteen. The engraving is of the highest quality. |
Short History of Warrant No. 614.
Warrant No. 614 issued to brethren in Castlefin, County Donegal, on the 6th March, 1783 and Warrant No. 614 was subsequently Cancelled on the 6th July, 1815.

The Minutes of the Grand Lodge Board of General Purposes dated 31st October, 1927 and 16th November, 1927 show concerning Warrant No. 614 -
"31 October, 1927 – Met Board - Read Memorial from various brethren praying for a warrant to establish a Lodge in Dublin in the County of Dublin to be called the Spectamur Agendo. Recommended"

Warrant No. 614 reissued to `Spectamur Agendo Lodge' (Motto of the old Royal Dublin Fusiliers) in Freemasons Hall, MOLESWORTH STREET, DUBLIN on the 15th December, 1927.
Series five Vol. 20 shown as Vol. 5 of the extant Grand Lodge Registers shows:-
"Warrant No. 614 to Dublin as “Spectamur Agendo Lodge”, 15 December, 1927 - Allen Guest, Civil Servant; Percival H. Benwell, Builder’s Clerk and James T. Liddy, Solicitor’s Assistant, all from Lodge No. 730, together with ten others, eight being from Lodge No. 730, registered 15 December, 1927."
The Minutes of the Grand Lodge Board of General Purposes dated 21st November, 1928 show concerningLodge No. 614 -
"21 November, 1928 – Read letter from Lodge 614, Dublin submitting design of Founders Jewel for approval. Approved."

Series six Vol. 23 of the extant Grand Lodge Register commences with the registration of Herbert N. Davies, Electrical Engineer, registered 1st May, 1953.

"13 November, 1997 - The Board noted with regret for reporting to Grand Lodge the decision of the Brethren of Lodge No. 614Dublin to return the Warrant to Grand Lodge."
