The top bar has in blue enamel letters the name of the Lodge, "Tirmochree",

The Compass and Square is a standard silver Past Master's Jewel with a fixed "G".

Short History of Warrant No. 523.      

Warrant No. 523 issued to brethren in SIXMILECROSS, Omagh, County Tyrone, on the 1st June, 1775. Warrant No. 523 was Cancelled, on the 6th July, 1826.

History of Trimochree Lodge No. 523.      

The Minutes of the Grand Lodge Board of General Purposes dated 28th November 1921 show concerning Warrant No. 523 -

"28 November, 1921 - Read Memorial from various Brethren praying for a warrant to establish a Lodge in Springs, Transvaal, to be called the Tirmochree. – Recommended"

The Recommendation of The Board was followed,as is shown in the Grand Lodge Minutes of 1st December 1921 as "Confirmed"

Warrant No. 523 reissued to `Tirmochree Lodge' in SPRINGS, Transvaal, South Africa, on the 6th December, 1921.

Series four Vol. 16 shown as Volume 4a of the extant Grand Lodge Registers shows:-

"Warrant No. 523 to Springs, Transvaal as “Tirmochree Lodge” 6 December, 1921- Albert E. Irwin, Reduction Officer, (323); Robert Herd, Surveyor (400) and Charles S. Jamieson, Metallurgist (887 SC) registered along with eight others from various lodges and constitutions, 6 December, 1921."

Series five Vol. 19 shown as Vol. 3 of the extant Grand Lodge Register commences with the registration on affiliation of William Carter, Mason, 3157 EC, registered here 14th July 1922.

A further thirteen  brethren registered up to 10th August 1923.  In most cases the dates when the issue of certificates is shown, together with the occupation of the brother.

A total of 91 brethren registered up to 13th March 1952.  In most cases the dates when the issue of certificates is shown, together with the occupation of the brother.

In view of the notable event in the history of Masonry under the Irish Constitution in South Africa, it is not out of place here to give the component lodges of the various Masonic Provinces. These are .....523 Springs "

Series six Vol. 22 of the extant Grand Lodge Register commences with the registration of Jurie J. Beon, Electrician, registered 14th August, 1952.

A total of 139 brethren registered up to 9th June, 1983.  In most cases the dates when the issue of certificates is shown, together with the occupation of the brother.

From 1984 the registration of members of TIRMOCHREE LODGE No. 523 is held, in alphabetical order, in a computerised register by Grand Lodge, Freemasons’ Hall, 17 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2.  The Registration of the Worshipful Master, Wardens and Secretary of Lodges are held in separate Registers, the first Volume covering the period 1983 to 1994 inclusive and the second Volume covering from 1995 to date.
